American agriculture helped build this country. It feeds our families, powers rural economies, and supplies markets around the world. Yet today, farmers and ranchers across the country face rising costs, shrinking margins, labor shortages, disrupted markets, and growing uncertainty about the future.
Restore American Agriculture is an effort launched by a bipartisan group of agriculture leaders including former heads of U.S. agriculture organizations, former congressional and USDA staff, and farmers and ranchers from across the country. We believe that Congress and the Administration are not taking this crisis seriously and the challenges facing the farm economy demand a serious response.
While our backgrounds and perspectives may differ, we share a common conviction: American agriculture is at a crossroads. The policies shaping the farm economy today will determine whether the next generation sees agriculture as an opportunity worth pursuing—or a burden too difficult to carry.
This effort grew out of a letter sent earlier this year to the leadership of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees. he response from farmers and ranchers, the media, and the general public made one thing clear. The Administration and Congress need to step up their game to help American agriculture, in an honest, non-partisan manner. Restore American Agriculture is pushing to make that happen.
Restore American Agriculture exists to help meet that need.

Advance targeted, bipartisan solutions that reduce input costs, restore export competitiveness, and strengthen long-term resilience.

Reassert congressional authority over trade policy, including tariffs, consistent with constitutional responsibilities.
The future of American agriculture is not predetermined.
The United States remains home to the most productive farmers, ranchers, researchers, and agricultural entrepreneurs in the world. With the right policies, renewed investment, and a commitment to long-term growth, American agriculture can continue to lead for generations to come.
What's missing is the political will in Washington to support it. This initiative is pushing Congress and the Administration to provide the policies, investment, and serious engagement that farmers and rural communities deserve.
Because restoring American agriculture is about more than preserving an industry. It is about preserving a way of life, strengthening rural communities, and ensuring that the next generation has the opportunity to build something even stronger than what came before.
